An alphabetical list of four mood altering substances.

Alcohol is a well known depressant. Cannot be consumed in mass quantities. Am enamoured with the concept of alcohol consumption, but am less then impressed with its effects. There is a certain stereotyped melancholy enjoyment in losing oneself in a drink. The chemical abandon. The slamming of the shot glass. The idea of inebriation, intoxicates me.

Caffeine, best consumed suspended in a well pulled espresso or expertly made chocolate. Awakens, or makes one fatigued, its abilities are mysterious and fickle. Perfect post meal, or as breakfast.

Nicotine. Induces a surge of euphoria. At its height, feels like an extended orgasm in the head without the physical interaction. Am in love with the idea of cancer, the body turning against itself.

Sugar. In all its forms and glorious refinement. A properly generous dose of sugar is required every half day. Preferably more.

I partake in all of the above.
