A theory formed by an uneducated mind.

I cannot sleep. This is a curse.

Am reminded of a conversation with a math teacher when I was fifteen. More of a monologue, actually, the teacher nodding pensively. (Perhaps had a good laugh about it afterwards?) A theory founded on pure uneducated thought. It goes like this:

We live in a three dimensional world, which is to say, we live in the third dimension. Things within our world have a length, a width, and a height. Therefore, the first dimension, has only a length, and the second dimension has a length and a width.

Now, the only way a two dimensional shape may exist in this three dimesional world of ours (not by way of mathematics nor theory) is within a shadow. A shadow, in the third dimension only has a length and a width, and is the only existing visual entity that lacks height.

So from this, it can be concluded that the second dimension is a shadow of this third dimension. And it logically follows that, the first dimension is a shadow of the second dimension. Having concluded thus, we can then assume that we are the shadows of the fourth dimension.

Now, an example of what the fourth dimension could be: The first dimension only has length, so, imagine if you will, a straight line. The second dimension has a length and a width, in order to achieve this, we shall square the line, forming a square. The third dimension has a height, a length and a width, achieved by squaring the square, forming a cube. Now, in order to form the forth dimension, it would be necessary to square the cube, alas, an impossibilty to our three dimensional minds.

So, in conclusion, we are merely shadows of the fourth dimension, and the fourth dimension can only be understood as the square of a cube.

I know there is someone out there who will have a good chuckle over my stupidity.
